What's New @ Connecting Passes, Scoring Goals?
Connecting Passes, Scoring Goals
announces partnership with Open Field
Connecting Passes, Scoring Goals is excited to announce our partnership with Open Field. Open Field was founded in 2010 with a mission of improving the lives and futures of youth through sport.
Their sport-based programming creates a safe space for youth to play and learn, with an educational topic connected to every practice and game. Youth participants take on leadership roles as coaches, referees, and methods to their peers. Youth emerge from our programs with new skills to succeed in school and in the workforce.
Connecting Passes, Scoring Goals will work together with Open Field in order to identify youth of underprivileged families who are otherwise unable to afford the cost of playing club soccer and give these youth opportunities to participate in club soccer, attend camps, clinics, and after school programs at no cost. Connecting Passes, Scoring Goals, will also work with Open Field in creating opportunities for high school age players to play at the collegiate level and guide interested players through the recruiting process.
We are honored to partner with a reputable organization such as Open Field and look forward to working together, creating opportunities through soccer.

October 17 Update

Connecting Passes, Scoring Goals, in partnership with the Environmental Charter School, conducted its first 2 soccer clinics since its establishment in August 2020.
The clinics were held on Monday, October 12th at Mellon Park, and on Friday, October 16th at Riverview Park Soccer Field, in Pittsburgh, PA.
A total of 22 athletes ages 7 - 13 participated in the clinics. During each 2- hour clinic, players were coached on a variety of soccer skills in a non-competitive, encouraging environment with extra emphasis on moving around and having fun! Both clinics finished with a soccer scrimmage, which was lively and gave players a chance to show off the skills they learned.
Overall, both clinics were a success and both the players as well as the coaches enjoyed themselves!
A special thanks to the Environmental Charter School for promoting the programs and encouraging the students to participate. We look forward to continuing our partnership and conducting future programs.
Our next free youth soccer clinic will be held on Friday, October 30, from 1 - 3 p.m. at Officer Eric Kelly Memorial Park in Morningside. For more information about this and other upcoming clinics, please check out our Events page! You can find photos from the clinics on our Facebook page.
